inferno emerger

 
This is a CDC midge pattern that I like to call the inferno emerge. I find red works particularly well on small patterns. In part because it helps attract attention to the fly, but you’ll also find similar colored segmentations on many midges. Helping to also demonstrate a more natural appearance. Tie it on a nymph rig or subsurface behind a dry fly. Either way it’s a great addition to any fly box!
